The history of Hy-Vee
Hy-Vee was started in 1917 as Vrendenburg & Lewis, which later gave way to a new partnership in 1938 called Hyde & Vrendenburg, Inc. The name was shorted in 1952. Today, there are over 240 Hy-Vee locations in the Midwestern United States.
