The history of Fastenal 

Fastenal was founded by a man named Bob Kierlin in 1967 (curiously, he would later go on to be a state senator for his home state of Minnesota). They started expanding, and by 1994 they decided to enter the market in Canada. Today, they have locations in the United States, Mexico, Canada, and Europe. There are over 2,600 Fastenal locations worldwide. Their current president and CEO is Daniel L. Florness, who has been with the company since 1996 when he was their chief financial officer.
