The history of David's Bridal
David Reisberg started selling wedding gowns for profit in 1945. Previously, he had made gowns, but just because he loved doing it. The first David's Bridal location opened in 1950 as a small boutique store. Two decades later, it was bought by Phillip Youtie who had ideas for how to expand it. He helped it grow to 18 shops, and then it spread across the country.
Today, David's Bridal is the biggest bridal gown seller in the United States.
David's Bridal shares their tips for selecting the perfect wedding dress
Shopping for a wedding dress can be tricky and overwhelming, as there are so many different options out there and lots of them are expensive. It's not a small purchase, and the experts at David's Bridal know that. They shared their professional tips for how you can make sure you get the wedding dress of your dreams.
Here are a few of the insider secrets they shared.
1. Wedding dresses sizes aren't the same as regular dress sizes.
They actually usually run a lot smaller, so you'll probably have to buy something with a bigger number than what you're usually used to.
2. You should take some time to get used to different fabric types
As wedding dresses are worn for special occasions, they're often made out of special fabrics - which means you may not be used to how these feel. Lots of them are designed to hold their shape really well, so they don't stretch and move like other fabrics you probably wear every day.
