The initials stand for Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (a name it got in 1999 when Banco Bilbao Vizcaya and Argentaria banks merged). They have around 15 million customers worldwide, and have banks in the United States and all over Latin America, including in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, and Venezuela. They also have banks in Turkey.

BBVA was founded in Bilbao, Spain, in 1857. Today, its CEO is Carlos Torres Vila, and the Group Executive Chairman is Francisco Gonzalez. They have branches in the United States and Latin America, as well as Turkey, and have around 15 million customers.
