The history of Bose

Bose was founded by a man named Amar Bose in 1964. Since then, it's grown to become one of the best-known technological brands on the planet, especially for their audio products. They're known for their high quality, which is in part thanks to Bose's training at MIT. Disappointed with a stereo system he purchased, he set out to make one better - and he did! 

All the research that's behind Bose

Bose is well known around the globe for being a great place to go to buy quality audio systems, whether you're looking for speakers for your home entertainment system, a new setup for your car stereo, or are a professional. Part of the reason they're so good is the incredible amount of research that's behind them. 

Founder Amar Bose went to MIT, and after buying a disappointing stereo set out to find out everything about the audio world. His first step was to figure out the factors that made regular stereos weak. One big one was that they didn't take into account the space the sound would be played in (like somebody's home) and what impact that would have on the sound. 

He also researched psychoacoustics, or how people perceive sound psychologically to figure out what was really important to the listener. 

It shouldn't come as much surprise to learn that the company's slogan is still "Better sound through research."
