All about Burger King
Burger King, often abbreviated as BK, had gone through several changes before it became what it is today. Now, it is a global chain of burger fast food restaurants and has expanded past the basic menu of burgers, French fries, sodas, and milkshakes, though those are still its primary products. In 1957, the Whopper was created, and it became the symbol of BK and its signature product. Burger King is always coming out with new foods for a limited time only, and this therefore always provides a bit of variety.
The King Deals and Value Menu have items on them for a discount prices, and often for only $1. The franchise always has some type of promotion happening, like your choice of two burgers for five dollars. Apart from constant promotion and deals, you won’t be hard pressed to find coupons that will help you save, and you can find all of those right here. The history of Burger King
Burger Kings story goes back to a restaurant called Insta-Burger King that was in Jacksonville, Florida, and founded in 1953. The company ended up running into trouble and was bought out by James McLamore and David R. Edgerton in 1959, who turned it into Burger King.
The chains grew and grew, and changed hands a few times, as well as concepts. Today, it has more than 15,000 locations worldwide.
Burger King has charity scratch cards
Did you know that some Burger King stores sell scratch cards to raise money for children? The cards have different sorts of prizes on the back, which are usually food or drink but can be something bigger, like a trip somewhere cool or a shopping spree.
The scratch cards cost $1 apiece and are sold at some places in the United States (but not all). The "A Chance for Kids" campaign donates money to organizations that help research and treat childhood cancer.
They also work with local sports times, like the Boston Red Sox in the Northeastern United States along with the Jimmy Fund, a charitable foundation. The moeny raised there goes towards local cancer institutes in Boston. They use the same model in other areas - teaming up with a local foundation to raise money for a local institute. Pittsburgh, for instance, has the Burger King Cancer Caring Center, to support the patients family and friends.
