Rent a Center isn't your traditional type of store. Rather than buying a produt outright, you can rent it by making a series of small payments as you go along. Then, if you decide you like the product you're renting, you can buy it to make it yours forever. They let you choose from weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly payment plans.

What sorts of products can you rent-to-own? Rent a Center has furniture, appliances, computers, electronics, and smartphones on offer.

You can get the lowest prices at Rent a Center by signing up for their deals program, as well as checking out the weekly ad specials and their television ads. But rather than doing on all this to keep track of the offers, why not let us take care of it? Add Rent a Center to your favorites here on Tiendeo and we'll collect all the latest Rent a Center coupons and deals for you in one place.

The history of Rent a Center

The store that inspired Rent a Center was founded by Ernie Talley in the 1960s. His store was called Mr. T's Rentals. The idea of rent-to-own came about when he told some customers who had rented a washer and dryer for a long time that they'd rented for long enough that the items were now theirs.

An employee, Thomas Devlin, at the store saw how well this worked, and partnered up with W. Frank Barton in 1973 to create Rent A Center. Today, there are nearly 3,000 Rent a Center locations.

Rent a Center gives back to local organizations

Ever since 2003, Rent a Center has had a close relationship to Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, a non-profit that helps children to achieve their true potential by giving them mentors to provide them with professional support.

The way that Rent a Center helps them is mostly through fund raisers, which are held every year at Rent a Center locations. They also set up "RAC Rooms" at centers dedicated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, which are given thousands of dollars' worth of brand-new products to give to the kids' rooms.

On top of that, Rent a Center has a program they call the "Random Acts of Caring" initiative, which helps support local charities. Since the program has been implemented, there have been nearly 100 different Random Acts of Caring, totaling over $530,000 in donations to charity.

That's really giving back to the community!
