The history of White House Black Market

White House Black Market was founded in 1985 by Patricia Smith and Richard Sarmiento in Baltimore, Maryland. Back then, it was just The White House and sold all white clothing. In 1995, black clothing was added in a sister store called Black Market. Soon, the two stores were paired, and the rest is history! 

Big names help White House Black Market make a big name for itself 

As many brands and companies know, having somebody famous and well-liked associated with your brand can go a long way to making your brand stand out amongst the crowd. White House Black Market already had a cool unique selling point with its focus on white and black clothing in high-quality styles, but over the years it's gotten a boost by being associated with some major names.
