West Elm has a firm comittment to being environmentally friendly
Did you know that West Elm does a lot of work to make sure that their environmental footprint as a compay stays low? There are quite a few things the company does to help protect the planet.
In 2014, for instance, they became the first home furnishings store in the United States that sold Fair Trade products. Also, over 90% of their products are designed by their very own in-house team that focuses on using organic materials that are sustainably sourced and handcrafted products. They still maintain their comittment to using Fair Trade certified items.
The name for this? "Responsible Retail". Their website, westelm.com, goes into further detail about how the company puts into practice its values of being ecologically responsible. They also have special icons to indicate which of their products are sustainable and in which way (such as being organic or Fair Trade certified).
