As a department store with a focus on clothes, TJ Maxx has many options for all your fashion needs.
All about T.J. Maxx
T.J. Maxx, is a department store chain that's one of the biggest clothing sellers in the entire United States. Their parent company is T.K. Maxx, and you'll see stores in other countries outside the U.S. with this name. You can find a range of products here, including clothing for men, women, and children, shoes, accessories, bath and beauty products, toys, and home products like cookware and furniture. It's the sister store of Marshalls.
Though T.J. Maxx always has low prices, you can get even lower ones by signing up for the T.J. Maxx mailing list, as well as shopping the clearance section both in physical T.J. Maxx locations and on tjmaxx.com. They even have a TJX Rewards Card for frequent shoppers. If you're a frequent shopper, why not add T.J. Maxx to your favorite stores on Tiendeo?
The history of T.J. Maxx
Bernard Cammarata founded T.J. Maxx in 1976 in Framingham, Massachusetts as part of the Zayre discount department stores. A few years later, Zayre got sold to Ames, and the Zayre stores were renamed TJX, which eventually became T.J. Maxx.
T.J. Maxx added an online store in 2009, but at first it only sold handbags. Now, you can find nearly all of T.J. Maxx's products on their official website for sale. Today, the store competes with traditional department stores as it overhead costs are much lower.
Maxxinistas: T.J. Maxx's most dedicated shoppers
T.J. Maxx has some shoppers that are so dedicated they've given themselves a nickname because of how much they shop at the store - Maxxinistas. So what on earth is a Maxxinista?
Urban Dictionary puts it best:
"A person who shops at the discount designer department store T.J. Maxx. One who finds unique and original designer items at discount prices. Some individuals are obsessed with the store and know what days they have new merchandise arriving."
These shoppers are definitely on their game when it comes to finding low prices. T.J. Maxx stores get, on average, about 10,000 new items every single week! Even the employees don't know what's going to show up in the next shipment, so dedicated fashionistas can go back again and again to find the best deals on designer clothing.
Have you ever made an amazing find at a T.J. Maxx store?
