The history of Stride Rite

The first Stride Rite retail store opened its doors to the public in 1972. Today, you can find Stride Rite locations in shopping centers in major U.S. areas. There are approximately 340 Stride Rite stores in total.
Stride Rite helps kids have great shoes
Stride Rite is all about giving children the supportive footwear they need to do all the things kids love to do - run, jump, and play as much as they want. That's why they help kids all over the world get great pairs of shoes.
They do this through their Soles 4 Souls nonprofit organization, which gives people in need good pairs of shoes that they wouldn't otherwise be able to get. In total, the organization has given away about 30 million pairs of shoes all over the globe!
If you'd love to donate shoes too, then you can bring in a pair - either new or used - to your local Stride Rite location. Just drop them off, and the store will make sure that somebody in needs gets them.
Through their partnership, they've helped fight poverty in more than 127 different countries worldwide.
