All about KFC
KFC, or as it's officially called, Kentucky Fried Chicken, is a chain of fast food restaurants that can be found all across the world. They have nearly 20,000 KFC locations in total! People just love their fried chicken, which is famously made according to Colonel Sanders' secret recipe, which has 11 different herbs and spices. You'll often get your chicken served in a bucket. Not a fried chicken fan? That's OK - you can also order burgers, wraps, salads, French fries, coleslaw, mashed potatoes, desserts, and more.
KFC's most famous slogan is "Finger Lickin' Good", although that has since been raplced by "So good" and "Nobody does chicken like KFC."

The history of KFC
KFC was founded by a man named Harland Sanders, who really was a colonel (that's where the restaurant's logo comes from). He opened his first restaurant in 1952 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and really brought chicken to the fast food market.
The company expanded rapidly and quickly became too big for Sanders to handle by himself, so he sold it to investors.
Today, there are nearly 20,000 KFC locations worldwide!
Who is the Colonel?
KFC's famous icon the Colonel is actually based on a real person - Colonel Harland Sanders, the founder of the restaurant! He really does look just like the drawing, too.
Sanders founded the restaurant in 1952, but that isn't the only notable thing he did in his life. He also worked as a filling station operator, insurance salesman, butcher, steam engine stoker, painter, farmhand, streetcar conductor, and more!
His start in the food industry began when he opened the Sanders Court and Café at a Shell Oil Company service station. Sanders served his customers country-style ham and chicken dishes - not too far away from what he'd later dish up at KFC locations!
His title "Colonel" comes from being chosen as a Kentucky Colonel, which is the highest title of honor that the state of Kentucky can give.
