Guitar Center, all the offers at your fingertips

Guitar Center says they're the biggest chain of musical instrument sellers in the entire world!

All about Guitar Center

Guitar Center says that they're the biggest chain store specializing in musical instruments in the world. This is where you can find everything you'll need to make beautiful music, from the instruments themselves to sheet music to accessories for your instrument or to play it properly.

Guitars aren’t the only thing you can by here of course, and not only do they sell the instruments, but everything you could ever need to go along with them. Guitar Center has a huge clearance section online, and great deals in-store. Promotions such as getting a $10 coupon when you spend $50 run frequently, and holiday and one-day sales happen often as well. To know when these are, check back here, but first have a look around to see all the Guitar Center deals you can find.

The history of Guitar Center

Wayne Mitchell founded this store in Hollywood, California, in 1959 - although it was known as The Organ Center back then! After a while, it started selling amplifiers and Vox electric guitars as well as oragans, so they changed their name to The Vox Center.

That changed when trends changed, and musicians moved away from using Vox amplifiers towards the Marshall ones favored by stars like Eric Clapton. So the new name was Guitar Center - and it stuck!

The store started really expanding in the 1970s with the rock and roll movement.

Guitar Center supports live music and musicians

It's probaby not much of a surprise that the people behind Guitar Center really love music! The stores help run two cool programs that get the word out there about great music.

One is the Guitar Center Sessions. These are live performances that are filmed and aired from the Guitar Center Hollywood store. Big name musicians ranging from Blondie to newer acts like the 1975 have performed here, and just about everyone in between. For their 50th anniversary, they invited Linkin Park to be the performers.

If you prefer to listen to your music online, there's a Guitar Center web series. The videos feaure interviews with music legends, who later give intimate performances for the lucky fans who are there. Travis Barker, Joe Satriani, Minus the Bear, and the Crystal Method are just some of the guests who have stopped by the web series.
