The history of Guess
Guess was founded in Beverly Hills, California, by Paul and Maurice Marciano, two brothers, in 1981. They got their big break with a series of black and white advertisements in 1985 that won many advertising awards and have since become iconic. Lots of supermodels have modeled for their brand, including Eva Herzigova, Claudia Schiffer, Kate Upton, and more, adding to their renown.
Today, there are nearly 500 Guess locations.
Hmm...where have I seen those clothes before?
Guess was opened in the early 1980s and was opened up by the two Marciano brothers, Paul and Maurice. The two were inspired by the cool styles they saw all over the West Coast when they first moved out to California. That's still the inspiration for a lot of their lines today!
And one of the biggest places their clothes have taken them is right onto the silver screen itself. Did you know that Guess's clothes were a big part of Back to the Future? Yep, main character Marty McFly wears Guess clothing throughout the movie. The outfits were all custom signed for the movie and his character, of course.
Today, Marty McFly's outfits are some of the most recognizable ones from movies. Although the distinctly 80s styles aren't considered the height of fashion anymore, they do show up frequently - at Halloween and cosutme parties when people dress up as Marty!
