The history of Furniture Row
Furniture Row was founded in Colorado in 1974. Back then, it was originally known as Pillow Kingdom, though both the stores and their selection started expanding. Today, there are over 330 Furniture Row locations.
Did you know that Furniture Row has its own racing team?
It might sound a bit unbelievable, but home furnishings store Furniture Row has its own stock car racing team! Yep, it's 100% true; this isn't an April Fool's Joke!
The team is called Furniture Row Racing and competes NASCAR's Monster Energy Cup Series. Their car numbers are 77,78, and 87. Furniture Row Racing is owned and sponsored by the chain of stores, and is also based out of the same city - Denver, Colorado. This makes it the only NASCAR team to have its headquarters west of the Mississippi River.
Their drivers include Erik Jones (who drives number 77, a Toyota Camry), and Martin Truex, Jr. (who drives the number 78, another Camry).
They debuted at the Nashville Superspeedway in the Busch Series in 2005. Their driver, Jerry Robertson, finished 33rd in the race. That year, his best finish was at #22.
In 2016, Furniture Row Racing switched to Toyota cars, which they currently race.
