For shoppers looking to give their houses a style update and turn them into homes, or ones who need to furnish their home in the first place, Crate and Barrel is a great place to shop. The store sells upmarket items that you might want in your home, from furniture to houseware to decorative items.
Crate and Barrel was one of the first stores to display their furniture items like you might set them up in your real home! Today, that's much more popular in stores that sell furniture and home goods.
You can find good deals on Crate and Barrel furniture on their official website, where they have a section of items on sale where you'll almost certainly be able to find a good deal. You can also stay right here on Tiendeo to get all the latest Crate and Barrel coupons and discounts!
The history of Crate and Barrel
Crate and Barrel was opend by Gordon and Carole Segal in 1962, when they were young newlyweds just back from their European honeymoon. They were inspired by the inexpensive but beautiful furniture they'd seen for sale on their travels, and wanted to bring the idea back to the U.S.
In 1968, business had grown enough to open a second shop, and a third one followed in 1971. Today, they have over 170 Crate and Barrel locations across the United States.
Crate and Barrel do their part for the environment
Crate and Barrel stores have a firm commitment to doing right by the environment. On their official website, they state it clearly: "At Crate and Barrel, green is not a trend. It's an ongoing mission." They also bleieve that "the best place to start making the world a better place is right at home."
So what does that translate to in real terms?
They're prioritizing creating new product lines and ways to manufacture their goods that are more responsible.
They've used sustainable materials, like renewable woods, in many collections over the years.
They changed their packaging from white bleached board to a renewable fibre with recylced materials, and got rid of packing peanuts and are working on eliminating packing foam, too.
Their West Coast stores are managed from the largest LEED Gold certified space in the entire U.S.! They have a location in North Carolina that has the same high-level certification, and it's one of the only retail stores that has it.
And that's just a few of the things the company is doing!
