The history of Christian Louboutin
Christian Louboutin is a French fashion designer who started sketching shoes when he was still in his teen years. He became obsessed with them after a trip to the Museé national des Arts d'Afrique et d'Océanie in Paris. He created a sketchbook of drawings of high heels and took it all the top couture houses, and got offered a job with Charles Jourdan.
Today, there are Christian Louboutin boutiques in 27 countries worldwide.
Do you know all about Christian Louboutin?
Christian Louboutin is one of the most famous designers in the world. After all, somebody just has to mention their Louboutins and everybody knows they're talking about a pair of his red-bottomed high heels. But here are a few fun facts that you may not have known about Mr. Louboutin!
The inspiration for those red soles came from one of his employees. She was wearing red nail polish, but in an unusual way. She'd painted the top of her nails black, but the underside red. That gave people a quick glimpse of red - which Louboutin replicated in his shoes.
But for a while, you could also get shoes with pale blue soles! The reason? They were meant to be for brides so they could incorporate the "something blue" into their wedding outfit. The shoes are no longer available.
Would you have bought a pair of baby blue soled heels to go with a wedding dress?
