All about Chick-Fil-A
Chick-Fil-A is a fast food restaurant that specializes in chicken sandwiches. Their slogan is "We Didn't Invent the Chicken, Just the Chicken Sandwich", because they came up with a new way to make chicken sandwiches just as quickly as burgers.
Their menu is of course more extensive than just sandwiches, so there is something for everyone. Good food for even better prices is what you’ll find at Chick-Fil-A. You'll often find Chick-Fil-A locations in shopping mall food courts, although there are lots of stand-alone stores as well.

The history of Chick-Fil-A
The story of Chick-Fil-A goes back to a restaurant called the Dwarf Grill. S. Truett Cathy opened the restaurant in 1946 near Atlanta, Georgia. The new name came about in 1961, when he found out that if you cooked chicken in a pressure fryer, it would take about the same amount of time as a hamburger to cook. The chicken sandwich then became their signature dish, and Cathy registered the name.
1967 first actual Chick-Fil-A opened under that name, and expanded by becoming a staple of food courts in shopping malls. Today, the company operates nearly 2,000 loctions, including 31 that are drive-through only. The first Chick-Fil-A opened outside of the U.S. was in Canada in 2014 in the Calgary International Airport.
Switch off your phone at Chick-fil-A and you’ll get free ice cream!
Have you ever gotten annoyed when you went out to lunch with your friend and they spent the whole time on their phone? Chick-fil-A has the solution!
Chick-fil-A franchise owner Brad Williams was tired of seeing this happen so he's trying to encourage his customers to stop it.
He decided to offer them free ice cream if they can leave their phone alone for an entire meal. Each guest has to put their phone inside the Coop, a square box placed on each table. If they can go the whole meal without touching it, they get free ice cream.
Williams’ idea took off both in his community and at other Chick-fil-As. Over 350 stores across the U.S. are also doing the Cell Phone Coop Challenge now too!
