The history of Carquest

Carquest was founded in 1974 by O. Temple Sloan, Dan Bock, and Joe Hughes. They created a cooperative distribution alliance to help auto parts stores be competitive against retail stores with huge volumnes of products. Today, it's onwed by Advance Auto Parts and there are somewhere aroudn 1,350 Carquest locations.

Carquest is one of those brands that you might see popping up all over the place. That's because they sponsor lots of different events! We'll talk about a few of them so you know where to look okut for. 

For instance, if you're into motorsports, you may know that they're the sponsor of the CARQUEST Auto Parts NHRA Nationals, which takes place at the Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park in Arizona. It's held every February.
