The Bon Ton was founded in 1898 by Samuel Grumbacher and his son Max. THe store was originally called S. Grumbacher & Son, though the store's name changed over the years. It expanded after World War II, when the family decidd to open a second location. Today, there are 267 Bon Ton store locations.
