The history of Enterprise
Enterprise was founded as Executive Leasing in 1957. Its name change came about in 1969, and it was named after a famous World War II aircraft carrier. The founder of the company, Jack Taylor, had served on this aircraft carrier.
In 2009, restructuring meant that Enterprise became one of the holding companies of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, along with the two companies it had acquired in 2007, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent a Car.
Enterprise CarShare program was piloted in 2008 and introduced in 2009 after a successful test at college campuses.

Most people have probably heard of Enterprise from the car rental counters at airports. But this company actually offers a wider range of services than you might be aware of.
