All about Vistaprint
Vistaprint is a worldwide online store that produces all sorts of printed materials - whatever they are! They might be some new business cards to introduce yourself professionally, or they might be holiday cards to send out a Christmas message to your closest friends and family. Whatever it is, if you need it printed, then Vistaprint will probably be able to do it for you.
If you visit their website, vistaprint.com, you can often see special offers and Vistaprint promo codes highlighted right on the main page. You can also check out their "Specials" section for low prices on certain products. They frequently run sales and discounts for holidays, so if there's one coming up you may want to have a look to see if there's anything going.
The history of Vistaprint
Vistaprint was founded in Paris by Robert Keane in 1995 just after he graduated from business school. His original idea was to just print business cards, but the business quickly expanded to more printed materials. It expanded with headquarters in different European cities, and in 2007 partnered with OfficeMax to have Vistaprint locations inside their stores in the United States and Mexico.
Because they focus on small-run orders that large printing companies usually wouldn't print, they can print orders very quickly - some in as little as 60 seconds! Normally, that could take upwards of an hour.
How Vistaprint does what other big printing companies don't
As we just mentioned above, Vistprint does something a bit different when it comes to printing - they actually embrace small-run orders! Lots of large printing companies won't do them, as it's not worth their time to print out small quantities of something. Not only does it take them an hour or longer, but it also isn't very profitable.
So how does Vistaprint do it? They have their own techonlogy called Cimpress that does it, which is patented. By focusing on small-run orders, they get large numbers of small, custom requests from brands. The technology aggregates these requests and then prints them out in their production facilities automatically.
How does it do this? It has a formala that takes into account what's being printed, what paper stock the job requires, if they've requested any special finishes, and when the order needs to be shipped by to arrive on time. Then, similar jobs are grouped and printed together.
